Can I have Rituo and GOURI together? What about order and interval?
“Wouldn’t it be better to have both Rituo and GOURI?” This question comes naturally once you hear that the two do different jobs. In short, they can be used together, but I do not recommend layering them from the start. Here is why.
The short answer
Rituo and GOURI do different jobs, so they can be planned together, but no study shows that having both is better than either alone. In two split-face randomised trials combining a skin booster with another treatment, the combination also showed no difference from each alone. So I recommend starting with one, watching for about 4 weeks, and adding the other only if the remaining concern lies in its territory. Neither has a reversing injection, so the principle is not to put a lot into the same area at once. At Miso Clinic, 4F Bombom Building, 125 Dongdeok-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu (Exit 1, Kyungpook Nat'l Univ. Hospital Station), +82-53-428-2700, we have both Rituo and GOURI and decide the order together with you.
Is it better to have them together?
“Synergy when combined” is a common claim, but I could not find a study that used Rituo and GOURI together. There are studies that tested a similar question. In two split-face randomised trials (36 and 12 people) combining a skin booster with another treatment, the difference between the combined side and the single-treatment side was not clear.
So I do not say “two treatments, twice the result”. Two treatments are for when there are two concerns to address.

So when do I use both?
| Face | How the work is divided |
|---|---|
| Thin skin around the eyes, rough texture on cheeks and forehead | Rituo family around the eyes, GOURI over wide areas |
| Thin dermis plus dull tone across the whole face | One first → the other for the remaining concern after 4 weeks |
| Texture improved after GOURI, but fine lines and pores remain | Rituo on the remaining areas |
| Density improved after Rituo, but overall tone remains | GOURI across the whole face |
Can I have both on the same day?
If the areas are divided, the same day is possible, for example Rituo around the eyes and GOURI on the cheeks. However, I do not recommend layering both in the same area.
- Neither has a reversing injection — too little can be topped up, but the opposite is difficult
- You cannot tell which one worked, or which one caused a problem
- GOURI is a spreading formulation, so with a lot of other material in the same layer its distribution is hard to predict
How long should the interval be?
No standard interval has been set by research. It is reasonable, though, to decide at the point when the first treatment’s results begin to show. With GOURI, texture and glow start to change at 4 weeks and settle at around 12 weeks. So if GOURI came first, I decide at the 4-week review whether to add Rituo; if Rituo came first, I decide whether to add GOURI after seeing the first progress.
After treatment, avoid sauna, strenuous exercise and alcohol for the first two days; make-up is fine from the next day. This is the same for both treatments.
What about adding Sculptra or Juvelook as well?
When the front of the cheeks and the temples are widely hollow, we sometimes plan by layer: Sculptra (PLLA) or filler in the deep layer, Rituo or GOURI in the dermis. My reflection is that layering several stimulators (Sculptra, Juvelook, GOURI) at once only adds burden such as nodules, with no confirmed benefit. With stimulators, the principle is one at a time, one per layer.
Rituo and GOURI together: frequently asked questions
Is the effect larger if I have Rituo and GOURI together?
There is no study of the two together, and similar combination trials showed no clear difference. Two treatments are for two concerns.
Can I have Rituo and GOURI on the same day?
Yes, if the areas are divided. I do not recommend layering them in the same area.
What interval should there be between Rituo and GOURI?
There is no standard interval. The next step is decided at around 4 weeks, when the first treatment’s results begin to show.
