The Density Noir procedure — what gets decided from consultation to finishing care?
“You just go in and start firing, right?” I hear this a lot in Density Noir consultations. In practice, more gets decided before the first shot than during it. Here are the four steps the manufacturer lays out, and what we decide at each one.
The short answer
A Density Noir treatment goes in this order: (1) consultation on your skin and concerns, (2) choosing the RF mode, (3) choosing the tip for that mode and area, (4) finishing care. Noir can deliver RF as monopolar, bipolar, or the two in sequence, so we settle the mode and tip first, based on the concern we agreed on in consultation. During treatment I watch skin surface temperature in real time and adjust cooling, and we judge the result with same-condition photos 2–3 months later. We added Density Noir in October 2026 at Miso Clinic, 4F Bombom Building, 125 Dongdeok-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu (Exit 1, Kyungpook Nat'l Univ. Hospital Station), +82-53-428-2700.
In what order does a Density Noir treatment go?
The manufacturer’s brochure sets out four steps, and we follow that order as it is.
| Step | What happens | What we decide |
|---|---|---|
| (1) Consultation | Check skin condition and concerns | Sagging, texture, or volume? |
| (2) RF mode | Monopolar, bipolar, or both in sequence | How deep the target layer is |
| (3) Tip | A tip that fits the mode and area | ALPHA tip by default, BOOST tip if needed |
| (4) Finishing care | Soothing and aftercare advice | What to avoid for the first few days |

What do you look at in consultation?
First I check whether your concern is the kind RF can help. Early to moderate sagging, where the jawline softens and the cheeks sit lower, and skin that has thinned out are RF territory. Hollow cheeks or temples are not, because RF does not add volume, so we talk about other options first.
This is also when I go over your medical history. If you have metal or electronic implants in the face, are pregnant, or have inflammation in the area, we do not do RF that day.
How do you choose the RF mode and tip?
Noir lets us choose how the energy goes out. Monopolar heats broad and deep, bipolar heats the shallow layer densely, and the third option fires both in sequence within one shot. The mode follows from the concern we settled on: deeper sagging, or texture and fine lines.
The tip comes next. At Miso Clinic the ALPHA tip is our default, and we add the BOOST tip when the shallow layer needs more work. I wrote about the differences separately in monopolar and bipolar modes and tips and shot counts.
What do you check during treatment?
Noir shows skin surface temperature in real time during treatment and adds cooling (Cooling Pulse) according to the settings. Cooling has 5 levels. I watch the temperature on screen and listen to how you describe the heat at the same time. That is why I keep numbing light.
The forehead, cheeks, jawline and neck differ in skin thickness and in how close the bone is, so one setting does not cover the whole face. I reset output and cooling for each area.
What does finishing care involve?
- Soothing and moisturizing right after treatment
- Redness and warmth on the day are common and usually settle within a day or two
- For the first few days, skip saunas, heavy drinking and intense exercise
- Contact us right away for blisters, oozing, or one spot that keeps burning
I wrote about pain and recovery in detail in Density Noir pain and downtime.
How long does it take on the day?
With consultation, photos, numbing cream (usually 20–30 minutes), the treatment itself and finishing care, plan for a little over an hour. The treatment time itself depends on the areas and the shot count.
We do not judge the result on the day. We look at it together 2–3 months later, with photos taken at the same angle and lighting.
Density Noir procedure: frequently asked questions
How many steps does a Density Noir treatment have?
Four: consultation, RF mode selection, tip selection and finishing care. Your concern, the mode and the tip are settled before any shots are fired.
Can I get Density Noir on the day of consultation?
If your medical history is fine and your concern is the kind RF can help, yes. If lost volume is the main concern, we talk about other options first.
Do you use numbing?
Yes, numbing cream. But I keep it light so you can tell me about the heat. Feeling the heat is the signal that helps prevent burns.
