When do GOURI results show, and how long do they last?
When someone says “it already looks better” a few days after treatment, I answer carefully. That is not the result yet. Here is what arrives when, as a timeline.
The short answer
GOURI changes are recorded from about four weeks, and duration has been confirmed in humans up to six months. The fullness right after injection is the injected solution plus swelling, and it settles within days. The often-quoted “6 to 12 months” is how long the material takes to degrade in the body, not how long the effect has been shown to last.

Where the “6 to 12 months” comes from
Polycaprolactone takes roughly that long to degrade in the body. But that is how long the material remains, not how long the effect lasts. The longest point at which effect was measured in humans is six months, and nobody has measured beyond it.
So Miso Clinic does not say “it lasts a year”. The honest version is: “confirmed to six months; after that we decide by looking at the skin.”
Retreatment is decided by condition, not by calendar
Not “six months are up, time for another”. We look at texture, fine lines and firmness. If the skin is holding well there is no reason to add more; if it starts to feel thin again, that is when to come in. Session counts are covered in How many GOURI sessions do you need.
Swelling and bruising
In the reported cases swelling settled within 48 hours. Bruising, as with any injection, can last days to about ten days, longer if you take anticoagulants. We found no reports of nodules, but with only 33 people in the human data that means “no data”, not “rare”.

Which treatment is “best” is decided by the state of your skin right now, not by the product. In consultation we look first at what has been lost and what is still there, before we talk about any product name.
Frequently asked questions
My face looked fuller the day after. Is that the effect?
No. That is the injected solution and swelling. It settles within days; the real change is recorded from four weeks.
Does GOURI last a year?
The longest human measurement is six months, so there is no basis for a year. “6 to 12 months” is the degradation time.
When should I judge the result?
At four weeks at the earliest, ideally six to eight. Before that the change has not fully arrived.
What if there is no result?
First we revisit whether the goal set at the initial examination was achievable with GOURI at all. If the problem was volume, GOURI was never the answer, and we change direction.
