The short answer
For hollow front and side cheeks we use subcutaneous Juvelook — Volume, Volume 100 or G. Hyaluronic acid fills first, and collagen and subcutaneous change around the PDLLA support the base over weeks to months. Broad, gentle hollows suit Volume or G; one hollow area suits Volume 100. Where a deep hollow needs shape straight away, we shape with hyaluronic acid filler first and build the base with Juvelook. Why cheeks hollow
With age the cheek fat thins and descends and bony support recedes a little, so the front cheek flattens and the side cheek dips. The right approach depends on how deep and how broad the hollow is.

What happens under the skin
- Hyaluronic acid adds volume first.
- Collagen forms around the PDLLA and firms the base.
- In aged mice PDLLA raised adipogenic factors and subcutaneous fat thickness; in the G animal study the fat layer gained volume to 12 weeks.
Treatment and course
After numbing cream, product is spread in the subcutaneous plane by needle or cannula. There is fullness straight away from the hyaluronic acid; around weeks two to three it can look back to baseline as the HA absorbs; then collagen builds support gradually over weeks to months.
I start small and decide whether to add after seeing the face again a few weeks later.
If sagging is part of it
Cheeks that look hollow have often descended. If sagging is the main cause, lifting first and then filling the remaining hollow with Juvelook gives the most natural result.
