Lifting at Miso Clinic — the devices we have, and how we choose between them
The useful question in lifting is not which device is better but which one suits this face. Where the descent is, how thick the skin is, and whether what came down is skin or tissue itself — those decide. This page lists what this clinic actually has and the criteria we divide it by.
At a glance — what this clinic has
Two radiofrequency devices, one combined RF-and-focused-ultrasound device, and thread lifting. They do not substitute for one another: they work on different layers and do different jobs.
| What | How it works | Layer | Mainly used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| XERF | Monopolar RF — 6.78 MHz & 2 MHz | Dermis and the structure beneath, broad and deep | Laxity, blurred jawline, skin texture — including the eye area |
| Density | Monopolar → bipolar in sequence, up to 400 W | Two different depths, one after the other | Sagging and laxity present together |
| Oligio Kiss | Monopolar RF + focused ultrasound | Broad dermal heating (area) + coagulation points at set depth (points) | When both broad heating and point tightening are needed |
| Thread lift | Absorbable threads — material, number and vector planned | Moves tissue physically | When heat is not enough and position must change |
| Not offered | Ulthera and Thermage — this clinic does not have these two devices. That is not a judgement on them. The full list is on what we treat and what we do not. | ||
How we divide them: where the descent is, how thick the skin is
| What the face is going through | Usually chosen | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Early to moderate laxity, jawline losing definition | RF alone (XERF or Density) | This is a stage for tightening and inducing remodelling, not for moving tissue |
| Thin skin with texture loss as well | RF plus boosters, sequenced | Heat alone does not restore thin skin — that is what boosters address |
| Thick skin descending under its own weight | RF with the larger handpieces | Sweeping a broad area with a small tip gives uneven delivery |
| Eye area, narrow and thin regions | XERF i05 effector | 5 × 10 mm contact area — this is what the market calls “eye XERF” |
| Broad heating and point tightening both needed | Oligio Kiss | RF and focused ultrasound are not competing technologies; they do different things |
| Tissue has clearly moved out of position | Thread lift, with a device if needed | Heat tightens but does not relocate |
| Volume is depleted | Lifting alone will not do it | None of the three devices restores lost volume — we say so at consultation |
More shots does not mean a better result. The number follows the treated area and the condition of the skin.
Heating tissue and relocating it are different jobs
Radiofrequency is current, not light. Heat is generated inside the tissue by its own resistance; collagen partially unwinds and contracts above a certain temperature, and the body reads that as injury and lays down new collagen over the following weeks. So RF is judged at two to three months, not the next day.
A thread lift is a different proposition: it does not tighten with heat, it carries descended tissue upward on a thread. “It looks saggy” can mean either problem, and sometimes both — in which case we sequence them.
Injectables and devices also work on different layers. Injectables put material into the dermis or prompt the body to make it, and that is the domain of density, texture and thinning; lifting devices heat the dermis and the structure beneath, and that is the domain of descent.
What this clinic has
| Device | Configuration held |
|---|---|
| XERF — Lutronic | All four effectors are held and chosen by region: XERF i05 (5×10 mm, 400 shots), i10 (10×10 mm, 300), EFFECTOR E40 (20×20 mm, 600), E60 (20×30 mm, 600). The eye area is treated with i05. |
| Density — Jeisys Medical | Four tips exist (ALPHA, Eye, Face, Body); this clinic uses only ALPHA. RIC impedance auto-adjustment, five-step gas cooling, real-time skin temperature monitoring during treatment. |
| Oligio Kiss — Wontech | Monopolar RF (Oligio) and focused ultrasound (Ultraskin Tightan) in one body. Its MFDS approval name is “The Great RF Sonata” (approved 1 September 2023); Oligio Kiss is the market name. |
XERF Ambassador
Miso Clinic is an XERF Ambassador selected by Cynosure Lutronic, the manufacturer. The certificate states the selection recognises the clinic’s adoption and practice of XERF on the basis of an understanding of dual monopolar RF treatment.
What it does not mean — it is a manufacturer designation, not a national qualification, a professional-society certification, a guarantee of outcome, or a claim to be better than other clinics.
Verifying genuine tips
In RF lifting the tip is a consumable: it is replaced after a set number of shots, and it is the point where energy actually meets skin. So “is this genuine” is a question about the tip used on your face today, not only about the console.
- XERF — only Lutronic genuine handpieces and tips; a genuine-product certificate is issued after treatment.
- Density — only genuine Jeisys ALPHA tips; certificate issued after treatment.
- Oligio Kiss — only Wontech genuine tips; the tip packaging is opened in front of you immediately before treatment and the lot number checked together.
How far the evidence goes
- XERF — three published human studies (20 patients, 2025, 12 weeks; 39 patients, 2026, four centres, 90 days; 16 patients, 2026, retrospective, 3 months). None has a control group and there is no randomised controlled trial. The other five publications are manufacturer-sponsored preclinical work.
- Oligio Kiss — no published manufacturer clinical trial has been identified.
- There is no head-to-head study between these devices. This clinic therefore does not claim one device is better than another. If you see such a claim, it is worth asking what it rests on.
“The principle of heating collagen is established” and “this device produces that result” are entirely different statements. Per-device detail is in the XERF, Density and Oligio Kiss references.
Author and clinic
This page was prepared and reviewed by Lee Chi-Hak, MD, director of Miso Clinic in Daegu, South Korea. Whenever the devices held here change, this page is corrected first. Per-device mechanism and evidence are in the reference library; injectables are compared at collagen boosters; the full list of what is and is not offered is at what we treat.

This page describes the lifting devices Miso Clinic holds and the scope of what it offers. It does not guarantee the effect of any treatment; indications and results differ with individual skin condition, the degree of descent and tissue characteristics. Whether and how to proceed must be decided in an in-person consultation with a physician. Adverse effects can occur.
